Trans 101: Gender Defender

A person who thinks the gender binary accommodates all people and that even transgender people should live in the gender assigned at birth without deviation. Implicit in this idea is the belief (like the gender binary) that transgenderism doesn't really exist and that everyone is really cisgender underneath. ("Under every fat person is a skinny person trying to get out.")

Usually these people are called anti-trans, transphobic, or transbashers by queers and allies but they themselves object to these names as insults. I partly agree. However, they have yet to propose any word for themselves, so I'm using these words which seem both fair and descriptive.  I got the term from Kate Bornstein who, as far as I know, coined the term.
